Massage

Massage has been practised throughout the centuries since the earliest civilisations.
It has been used medically as a healing treatment as well as to invigorate, sooth and beautify the body.

Sports, Remedial and Therapeutic Massage are used both to enhance sporting performance and to prevent and treat specific injuries.

Holistic Massage promotes relaxation and the feeling of well-being. Mental and emotional stress can be reduced and energy levels boosted with circulatory drainage techniques.

Remedial

Remedial Massage is an advanced massage using many remedial techniques to improve range of movement, function, performance, injuries and postural problems.

Remedial Massage uses the techniques which are used in a controlled environment working in partnership with your body to improve certain problems. As it works to a deeper level all treatments are specifically design to the individual, we don’t believe in “beating up” treatments we are here to help!

Sports

Sports Massage is specifically designed to help improve sports performance, training, preparation for, recovery from competition and injury management. It also has useful benefits for non-athletes.

Sports Massage uses effleurage (stroking technique), petrissage (kneading and friction technique) as well as a combination of mobilisation and stretching techniques to prepare the body for activity or aid recovery.

The treatment is split into two elements:

Pre (before): is specific to warming of the muscles and making the body ready for exercise.
Post (after): allows the body to relax and help the therapist to “flush” out the lactic acid from the muscles.

Maintenance massage is for those clients who have had a tension released or are looking to maintaining a relaxed state of body and mind. The treatment is individually tailored to suit the client’s needs and circumstance.

Maintenance massage is also good for athletes as part of their training program, as it deals with athletes’ current problems from tight muscles to general aches and pains. As it is individually based different techniques will be used to focus on particular areas or a specific spot to deal with client's or athlete's concerns.

Swedish

Swedish massage is a commonly known massage and is the template of all massages including Hot Stone and Deep Tissue. Its purpose is to relax muscles and helps to reduce stress using a variety of techniques.

Swedish massage is also recommended as part of an emotional and physical stress reduction treatment program. Swedish massage will also stimulate the “body and mind” by stimulating the skin and nerves helping you to feel very relaxed and rejuvenated. With the use of Swedish massage the therapist will increase the oxygen flow in blood and muscles, helping you to relax, unlike Deep Tissue, where the “knots” that you may have are worked on. The aim is to relax you and deal with the stresses you may have, but not work on specific problems.
